Wang Xiaoli, deputy director of Comprehensive Division of Planning of Qinghai Provincial Department of Transportation, introduced that there are still some villages and towns in Qinghai that do not have hardened roads, and some formed villages have not yet built village roads. At the same time, many border roads connecting Tibet, Sichuan and other surrounding four provinces and regions in the province are still dominated by roads below grade 4.

It is understood that from this year, Qinghai will accelerate the promotion of national, provincial and village three-level road marking and network work. By 2020, the proportion of road mileage above the second national road in the province will reach 80%, compared with the level at the end of the Twelfth Five-Year Plan, it has increased by nearly 30%; The proportion of roads above the second grade of provincial roads is expected to exceed 30%, doubling the level at the end of the Twelfth Five-Year Plan; All villages and towns have hardened roads, all formed villages have smooth roads, with 10000 kilometers of new total mileage of highway.

Wang Xiaoli said that in the next four years, Qinghai will also focus on speeding up the repair work of “washboard road” and “Broken Road” with the surrounding four provinces, especially the border areas of Tibetan areas, by the end of the Tenth Five-Year Plan, the related construction and renewal projects of 16 roads will be completed, and the Panshan dangerous roads will be expanded while improving the pavement grade.
