Mainland China reported more than 540000 cases of legal infectious diseases in March
China News Agency, Beijing, April 12 (Reporter Dong Zichang) China’s National Health and Family Planning Commission revealed on the 12th that in March 2017, 544132 cases of legal infectious diseases were reported in mainland China, with 1589 deaths.
On the same day, the Health Planning Commission reported that among the legal infectious diseases reported in March, Category A infectious disease of plague and cholera had no disease or death reports. Such infectious diseases are also called compulsory management infectious diseases, including plague and cholera.
During the same period, there were no reports of morbidity and mortality of infectious atypical pneumonia, diphtheria, poliomyelitis and highly pathogenic avian influenza among Class B infectious diseases, and 325791 cases and 1579 deaths were reported among the remaining 22 infectious diseases. Class B infectious diseases are also called strictly managed infectious diseases, including 26 kinds of infectious atypical pneumonia, human infection with avian influenza A (H7N9), AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, poliomyelitis, etc. The government requires the prevention and control of such infectious diseases in strict accordance with relevant regulations and prevention and control programs.
Among the Class B infectious diseases reported in March, the top 5 Diseases reported were Viral Hepatitis, tuberculosis, syphilis, gonorrhoea and bacterial and amebic dysentery, accounting for 95% of the total reported cases of Class B infectious diseases.
In terms of class C infectious diseases, a total of 218341 cases and 10 deaths were reported in mainland China in March. Among them, filariasis has no disease or death report. Class C infectious diseases are also called surveillance and management infectious diseases, including 11 kinds of influenza, epidemic parotitis and leprosy. The top 3 reported cases of Class C infectious diseases are other infectious diarrhea, hand-foot-mouth disease and influenza, accounting for 90% of the total reported cases of Class C infectious diseases.
