With the approval of the State Council, the Ministry of Civil Affairs approved people’s government of Sichuan province in Document No. 72 [2017] of the people’s letter on April 9, 2017, and agreed to cancel Longchang county in Sichuan province and establish county-level Longchang city, the former administrative area of Longchang county is the administrative area of Longchang city, and the People’s Government of Longchang city is located at No. 64, Dadong Street, Guhu Street. Longchang city is directly administered by Sichuan province and hosted by Neijiang City.

The withdrawal of Longchang county and city is to thoroughly implement the 18th CPC National Congress and the third, fourth, fifth and the spirit of the party’s 6th plenary session of the 18th CPC Central Committee, implement Premier Li Keqiang’s important measures to solidly promote the spirit of the new urbanization speech at the fifth session of the 12th National People’s Congress.
